Remember the 80s when it seemed like every other record had a song title (with brackets in
it)? Just make the song title shorter we all thought – how foolish and wrong we were. Never ones to pass up the opportunity to give another pointless bandwagon a hefty shove down the slopes we call house, here come Deeper Creeper with more brackets that a rainy bank holiday at Homebase...
But what does all this mean? Well Deeper Creeper is Massimo Lavagnini a Roman chap who comes from a background of classic 80s dance music himself. Starting out in the middle of those glorious days as a club singer and deejay, in 1991 together with Paolo Lombardi Massimo founded the group ‘No Mistake’, which led to an underground 12”, ‘Kinky Sex’ on ACV Records – well it was acceptable the 80s.
Fast forward to 2006 and Massimo has awoken like a cross between Disco Stu and Rip Van Winkle, embraced the technological development of home recording and pushed his studio to the limit creating a unique, quirky and thoroughly modern house sound. His new single has been expertly re-interpreted for us by the Rurals.
