4 CLOCLO (Rosko & Sumsuch Mix) +listen

Bertrand Dupart’s 2005 release "Gisèle" on Dj Deep's seminal imprint, Deeply Rooted House, with Kerri Chandler, Jovonn and Manoo, catapulted him into the boxes of Carl Craig, Blaze, Dj Gregory, Markus Enochson and Phil Asher.

Drawing on his experiences as Resident at Le Carrousel in Nantes, an underground venue beloved of luminaries such as like Gilles Peterson, Dj Deep, Franck Roger and Julien Jabre, Bertrand's fledgling productions have marked him out as one of France’s hottest prospects.

CLOCLO is one of those rare house tracks imbued with incredible depth yet devastatingly effective at moving a dancefloor. Rosko & Sumsuch strip the track bare and take it to a deeper, trackier level with the addition of the swing of live percussion.

OOASK provides a nod to Bertrand’s French counterparts with skittering beats reminiscent of DJ Gregory, overlaid with searing pads and epic strings.

We find different levels in SSHHTT every time we play it, a Jimpsteresque slab of proper modern house music of outstanding, soul, beauty and depth. Just the way we like it…
